Stormwater Soaking of an Engineered Floor in Winnetka

This one wing of a home in Winnetka suffered a soaking from a storm and immediate action was required. Our SERVPRO of Canoga Park / West Hills technicians are ready to respond 24/7 for emergency water removal after an appliance breakdown or a severe natural disaster. Engineered flooring, fabricated in layers, is susceptible to rapid water absorption and then warping. After vacuuming up the standing water were removed some of the boards to mitigate the water damage. Using air movers and dehumidifiers the wood surface and the underlying concrete pad were dried by the end of the day. We can use infrared moisture devices directed at the wetted areas and compare them to a dry baseline in another area of the Winnetka house to establish a successful drying effort.
